New Work
New Work is a philosophical movement that has inspired my professional work for many years.
Initiated in the late 1970s by philosopher Prof. Dr. Frithjof Bergmann, New Work emerged as a response to the alienation of work caused by industrialization and capitalism. Its goal was to reconnect work with human needs, freedom, and personal fulfillment.
The three original pillars of this philosophy are:
-
Meaningful work – work that we truly, truly want
-
High-tech self-sufficiency – technological innovation that expands personal freedom
-
Community work – mutual support and collaboration within communities
These ideas have continued to evolve and today influence many approaches to modern workplace culture:
-
Trust-based autonomy for individuals and teams
-
Continuous learning and personal development
-
Shared visions and goals
-
Combining human potential with technological possibilities
-
A holistic understanding of work as an important part of life
In my coaching and training programs, I translate these ideas into practice – through New Work workshops and related topics such as change management, leadership development, self-management, and future skills for companies and organizations.
My Blog
My blog grows out of my passion for my work and my gratitude for the people I have had the privilege to accompany on their journeys – and who have inspired me along the way.
It has developed from many hours of coaching sessions and workshops, out of encounters with people grappling with questions about their work, their professional development, and their search for meaning, courage, and fulfillment.
Here I write about career development, work, New Work, self-employment, and navigating change – at work and beyond.
About Me

I am a trained philosopher and economist, a certified intercultural group facilitator, as well as a coach, trainer, and consultant specializing in New Work.
With more than 20 years of professional experience, I have worked as a journalist and editor, led teams and projects, and supported people from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds as a mentor and trainer.
For more on my background:
The question of work has fascinated me since my university studies – from social, cultural, economic, historical, ethical, and philosophical perspectives. I bring my theoretical knowledge and my interest in different approaches, perspectives, and practical solutions for the modern world of work into my coaching sessions and workshops.
My work combines various methods and perspectives: philosophical thinking, systemic coaching, group processes, agile methods, experiential learning, storytelling, and narrative approaches.
I believe that we can actively shape the future of work – and I place great value on turning reflection into action. I support people in moving forward through strategic and logical thinking while also trusting their own intuition and experience.
I work in German, English, and Polish with clients from around the world – in Berlin and online.
The cost of coaching is discussed individually and transparently, depending on your goals and needs. The first phone or online consultation is always free of charge.
